Shunsui dramatically mentions squad zero as the royal secret service in pendulum chap -108 page 17.

People keep saying the vizards are going to come out and get involved in this fight, which seem very likely with the way events have been moving along. But its been over 100 years since any of them were shinigami. Though they were captains and vices they could be a bit rusty from sitting around in a warehouse and arguing all the time. I'm really curious to see how powerful the vizards are when they put their all into fights, especially hiyori.

Sorry for not posting on the chapter where they were talking about Squad Zero. Haven't been thoroughly checking the forums recently. The Vizards are strong and we have yet to see their full powers but up against Aizen I don't know how they'll fair. I can see the lesser captains, vice captains, and vizards fight against the remaining espada henchmen. Then better captains and vizards fighting against the espada. Leaving old Yamma, baldy, and possibly Kisuke fighting Aizen, Gin, and Tousen.

I wonder why the gotei 13 can't just call them to defeat Aizen. Maybe because Karakura might be in danger because of Zero's powers.

If you remember correctly the Kakurura Town they're currently fighting in is a copy that is actually located in Soul Society.  More than likely Squad Zero
doesn't feel that they are needed in this fight since old man Yamma and Ichigo along with the rest of the the captains are there to fight Aizen.

if you recall back to the fight between ichigo and grimmjaw where ichigo first used his vizard power, hiyori handed grimmjow his ass and was about to kill him until the negation light saved him. im pretty sure the vizards are all very strong

do not forget Grimjow was about to release before Ulquiorra arraived also he only had one arm and was not at espada level
