he is strong..if u remember/ paid any attention to the shinigami gold at the end of the anime i forget the episodes but sumhow kon got inside his body n was in ss...he was fightin a squad off alone...he was actualy owning wit his zanpaktou..

edit=> i found it episode 120 at the end he takes out like 4 shinigamis in a diff squad in 1 blow

course i agree i means captains have to PROTECT so its logical that all captains can fight..the 4th squad cpt had 2 strt off like hanatouro.. so he will probly b able to do it aswell sooner or later...probly/hopefully sooner 2 stir things up a bit
